Description
(6-8″ tall x 18″ wide) SunSparkler® ‘Dazzleberry Sedum’ is a compact growing stonecrop that grows happily in poor, dry soil conditions once established. Its smoky blue-grey foliage grows and spreads in wide mounds creating a beautiful groundcover and a nice contrast to plant companions. In late summer it puts on a spectacular show with blossoms of raspberry-pink flowers almost 9 inches across. Blooming for almost 2 months, they are a great way to enhance the perennial bed. A great choice for dry areas, rock or alpine gardens, fire-scaping, borders, and containers. Plant with asters, Coreopsis, Yarrow, and other succulents for a dazzling display. Bees, butterflies, and birds appreciate the late summer flowers. They bloom earlier than many other sedums, extending your season of color. Low maintenance, water occasionally, and simply pinch spring growth a bit to thicken up the plant if desired. Flowers may be cut back after fading, they are evergreen in areas with mild winters and hardy in zones 3-9.
