Description
‘Prince Of Orange’ Oriental Poppy (Papaver orientale ‘Prince of Orange’) has huge 5-inch diameter orange flowers with a black centers that make this sturdy perennial a late-spring standout in the garden. Easy-to-grow and long lived, ‘Prince of Orange’ Poppy thrives in a variety of soil types including clay. The plants go dormant in mid-summer, so It’s best to combine them with other medium to large growing summer bloomers, like Jupiter’s Beard (Centranthus), Daylilies (Hemerocallis) and Asters to fill in, as the poppy ‘disappears’ until re-growing its foliage in the fall.
