Description
A 2006 Plant Select® Winner. 5-6′ tall x 6-8′ wide. Chamaebatiaria millefolium (Fernbush) is a choice native shrub that blooms in mid-summer with fragrant spikes of white flowers followed by ornamental seed heads that ripen to bronze. The semi-evergreen, fern-like foliage is deep olive-green in color and very attractive. Fernbush is a valuable plant for enhancing the garden’s value for habitat as the flowers are highly attractive to native bees. Native over much of the western US, it is highly adaptable and grows in poor soils and dry conditions.
