(36-48″ tall x 24-36″ wide) Buzz® ‘Hot Raspberry’ Butterfly Bush is an exceptional addition to the pollinator-friendly garden. Flowering from early summer to late fall with 6-8-inch tapering spikes of magenta blossoms, they add a colorful, long-blooming element to the garden. Butterflies and hummingbirds will make ‘Hot Raspberry’ their favorite stop! At 3-4 feet tall, ‘Hot Raspberry’ is a great choice for a small garden or a nice selection to work into a perennial bed without it taking over. Also lovely in containers, its sweet honey scent can be enjoyed along with the butterflies it attracts. Plant butterfly bush in compost-enriched soil with good drainage in a sunny to part sun location. Water well to establish, thereafter it is a water-thrifty plant. Deadhead spent flowers to keep more flowers coming. In mid-spring, cut stems back to 3 inches long to stimulate good growth and lots of flowers. This rabbit and deer resistant shrub is an easy-to-grow selection for a long season of colorful blossoms. Hardy in zones 4-9.
