Salvia x ‘Amistad’ PP#23,578 (Friendship Sage) is a large growing Sage that blooms for several months with huge violet-purple flowers that attract hummingbirds. If Salvia Amistad is outside of your USDA growing zone, it can be grown in pots as an annual (it has vigorous growth in the first year) and it can often overwinter in a garage.

Salvia x ‘Amistad’ PP#23,578 (Friendship Sage) is a large growing Sage with huge violet flowers for several months beginning in mid- to late summer. In warm zones along the CA coast, the plant can get quite large after a few growing seasons. Prune hard in late spring to keep the plant more compact. In colder climates Amistad is a spectacular container plant ideal for use around outdoor patios to attract hummingbirds. This plant is believed to be a hybrid between S. guaranitica x S. gesneriiflora and was discovered at a plant sale in Argentina in 2005. Javelina resistant
